At PSK Environmental, we recognise our moral and legal responsibility to provide a safe and healthy work environment for employees, our contractors, clients, and the public, and for the prevention of injury and illness or property damage.
PSK aims to:
- Support and empower our employees to demonstrate responsibility, trust, teamwork, workplace wellness and ownership of our Health and Safety (H&S) Management Systems.

We achieve this by:
- Providing monthly Health, Safety and Well-being team meetings through mixed mode delivery to ensure all of our people have the opportunity to attend
- Recognising the importance of mental health, especially in our current climate, and providing activities such as “Mental Health Matters” days and “PSK Fun” day to promote good mental health and maintain interpersonal connections.
- Constantly evaluating and updating our policies and systems to further enhance and maintain an interdependent safety culture.
- Providing our people with the time and resources they need to be healthy, safe, and responsible in all aspects of their lives.
- Integrating WHS into all aspects of PSK operations.
- Providing and maintaining a safe, healthy work environment.
- Providing appropriate H&S training and supervision to enable employees to recognise and control hazards.
- Providing employees with clear written instructions and personal protective equipment.
- Regularly inspecting our offices and field sites to identify and control hazardous conditions and practices.
- Consulting with employees and other parties to improve decision-making on WHS matters.
- Promptly investigating H&S incidents to identify causes and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Regularly auditing our H&S Management Systems against established standards to promote continuous improvement.
- Implementing a Flexible Working Arrangement Policy to contribute to the well-being of our team.
- Empowering our staff to stop work when an immediate or imminent hazard is identified.

The dedicated Health and Safety Manager acts for PSK in developing a plan to enable us to reach the aims set out in this policy while fulfilling applicable legal, regulatory and other requirements.
PSK are committed to providing flexible working hours and arrangements to best assist our team in managing their work commitments. We recognise that a balanced work life benefits not only our team, but our business overall.
PSK aims to:
- Promote a flexible working arrangement as a means to maintain a healthy work life balance
- Consider the needs of our team to meet their familial responsibilities
- Recognise the importance of other situations such as community/voluntary work and medical appointments to our team and accommodate these to the best of our ability
We will:
- Provide access and resources to all of our team to allow them to work remotely
- Do our best to accommodate the working arrangement requests of our team
- Encourage participation and inclusion by delivering team meetings through online platforms
- Record and distribute meeting minutes to our team members who are unable to attend team meetings
- Maintain connections through our virtual “catch-up with cuppa” initiative

As an environmental consultancy, PSK is committed to environmental leadership in all of its business activities. We strive to protect our environment through sound management practices and decisions within our own business and through utilising our expertise for our clients.
PSK aims to:
- Promote responsible environmental stewardship that considers economic security and social betterment.
- Identify and manage our environmental impacts to protect the environment and prevent pollution.
- Achieve sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources in our project work and within our own facilities.
We achieve this by:
- Collaborating with clients and stakeholders to act on opportunities for reuse, and rehabilitation.
- Working with clients and stakeholders to identify and manage relevant environmental risks, while realising their business objectives.
- Collaborate where possible with university to research, develop and promote practical resilient solutions to relevant environmental issues.
- Work with clients and collaborators with due consideration that their environmental commitments are consistent with our own.
- Conserving natural resources by adopting pollution prevention practices. For example, extending the life of equipment through preventive maintenance scheduling, purchasing and reworking used equipment etc.
- Develop and improve operations and technologies to minimize waste, and other pollution, minimize health and safety risks, and dispose of waste safely and responsibly.
- Participate in efforts to improve environmental protection and understanding
- Ensure the responsible use of energy throughout our business, including conserving energy improving energy efficiency, and giving preference to renewable over non-renewable energy where feasible.
