As part of the duplication of Brisbane Airport’s existing runway, PSK was commissioned to undertake a number of environmental assessments dating back to 2013. PSK continues to provide assistance with the post construction phase of the project. PSK is proud of the contributions we have made to this key piece of infrastructure which will bring significant economic benefits to the city of Brisbane for many years to come.

  • Acid Sulfate Soil (ASS) Assessments for the Obstacle Limitation Surface areas to manage the risk to the receiving environment from filling activities.
  • Impact assessment in drains affected by iron floc and staining
  • Monosulfidic Black Ooze (MBO) risk assessments and management for the open drainage network
  • Acid Sulfate Soil assessment for land subject to dewatering
  • ASS management of a wetland experiencing acid impact
  • Development of ASS Environmental Management Plans (EMPs)
  • Devising a new methodology for managing ASS impacted by Asbestos Containing Material (ACM)
  • Development of ACM Management Plans
