Cairns Shipping Development project

Silvana Santomartino (PSK Director) was invited to be a member of the Ports North Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for the dredging works associated with the $127 million Cairns Shipping Development Project. The project involves the widening and deepening of the existing Trinity Inlet shipping channel and placement of 840,000 m³ of dredge material on land with a former sand quarry.

Silvana’s role is to provide Ports North with expertise in relation to ASS treatment and management. This includes the review of third party consultants’ reports such as the Acid Sulfate Soil Management Plan, the Dredge Management Plan and the Site Based Management Plan.
